I wrote this blog post about adapting UK comedies to internationally distributed films, where I focused on In the Loop and The Trip. My favorite parts from The Trip in order are
1) When Steve Coogan sees a front page newspaper headline in a dream that says “Coogan A Cunt, Says Dad” on it.
2) When Rob Brydon is talking about how Michael Sheen is brilliant and Coogan responds with “I’m fucking brilliant!” and then makes an idiotic face for a slightly extended period of time.
3) When Coogan plays “Popcorn” by hitting the sides of his throat and when he finishes says “I can do loads of things” as if that is a notable skill.
The second of these was readily available on youtube, so please watch it and laugh at it.
